Trade Tools History
Founded in 1955 by Mr. Bill McGechie. Bill had the foresight to realise that the rapidly expanding manufacturing sector was being hampered by a lack of access to quality cutting tools and threading equipment. Focusing on these lines Bill utilised this opportunity to start the country's first specialist store.
It wasn’t long before the company established a reputation for carrying an extensive range of product, backed up with prompt delivery and solid after sales support, resulting in rapid growth and extensive expansion across the country.

Today our retail stores in Christchurch, Palmerston North and Auckland are supported by 13 specialist reps throughout the country, meaning that any one of our 52 staff will be close by to help keep your industry running. Our Technical Tool experts can work with you to train your staff on tool usage and tool maintenance as well as performing services such as: custom bandsaw welding, tool and cutter grinding.

T.T. Group (Trade Tools Ltd & Total Trade Supplies)
Together with the three Trade Tools Ltd branches (Auckland, Palmerston North & Christchurch) the T.T. Group consist of Engineering Supplies Specialists, Total Trade Supplies Ltd with its four branches (Hamilton, Rotorua, Wellington & Dunedin).
This extensive branch coverage enables us to cater to the varying needs of our customers, from the largest nationwide organisations to the smaller niche business around the country.
It doesn’t matter who or where you are, the same high levels of service and support will be available anywhere throughout the T.T. Group.
